Feeding Kids in Need

The Berea Area Ministers, along with several local organizations, are Concerned about the level of need among the children in Berea.  It has been identified that 15 % of Berea’s children live in poverty and 40% receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year.  It is a concern that children at risk do not have enough to eat on weekends and school holidays.

The area churches and civic organizations would like to take the responsibility of feeding 50 of Berea’s neediest families on school holiday weekends during the school year.  The food will be collected at our churches and distributed through Church Street Ministries.

Food will be distributed to families on a first come, first serve basis on the evening before a holiday begins.  Heritage Church will provide the food for Presidents Day weekend, February 18th through February 20th.

Items Still Needed to Reach our Goal:

The collection boxes will be at Heritage Church in fellowship hall.

Cash donations will be accepted by Heritage Church and Heritage will buy the food items with the cash.  Checks can be written to Heritage Church with Feeding Kids/Berea on the memo line.

Food will be delivered to Church Street Ministries on Friday, February 17th.
